What I did on my reading week....

So, I know that my blog is late, and the reason is that I was on reading week and did not have my assignments due page that Theresa graciously supplied to us. Besides completely flaking on not only my blog assignment but I also flaked on working on my civic literacy assignment.

During the reading week, I completely planned on emailing a list of question to a couple of friends regarding my civic literacy presentation that thankfully is not due until Nov. 25. Not only did I forget my question back in my residence, I tried to email friends and no one had their packages...:(. I also finished my news journals that were due the beginning of reading week.

Okay!! Enough boring things! Lets talk about the fun things that I did during reading week. Besides baking an amazing apple crisp that turned out D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S!, I got to see alot of old friends. I also went to the bars with my boyfriend and some friends. We played some pool, which I lost every game, but we also went to the bars and danced forever! We also went to the strippers, which was my first time for that. It was a very interesting experiance, I enjoyed the creativity, and the music, but the ratio of natural to non-natural was dissapointing.

Overall, I had a really fun and eventful reading week! I hope everyone else did!!

News Journals!

So I was compelled to write about something compelling and came upon the conclusion that I have nothing compelling to write about. So I decided to write about news journals, and the joy of them. For those who don't know what a news journal is, it is a 6-8 paragraph piece about a newspaper article of our choice. In this piece, we are suppose to write about how the article makes us feel, how it should make the general public feel etc. Basically, we write about how we feel. It's like a big group hug.
Well, for our Print Journalism course, we are suppose to write three of these a week and have them submitted. So far, I've had a fun time with them. But lately, and this is not meant to be offensive, I feel like I haven't found anything in the news that compels me. And it really started to bother me because I hate feeling like I have nothing to do. That is, until one of my classmate mentioned this site that has a billion different newspapers listed for our convenience. So now I'm happy that I'm not stuck anymore. And I look 'forward' to writing about the news....
